BREXIT
On the 1st January 2021 BREXIT became a reality for everyone involved in the supply chain between the UK & the EU.
As a company Steder set up specialized in house customs departments to deal with the challenges which presented itself. Our teams are working closely with the various government authorities to ensure that transition was as seamless as possible. Steder has offices in both Netherlands and the UK which work closely together to ensure that all required customs obligations are met by our various customers. In the UK the extensive discussions with both HMRC and DEFRA means that we are well aware of all the applicable laws and regulations and we continue to follow all the latest developments and changes regarding BREXIT which we pass on regularly to our customers.
Additional legislation
From 2022 the UK introduced additional legislation which required certain products such as Products of Animal Origin (POAO), to be pre notified via the Import of Products, animals, food and feed system (IPAFFS).
Our UK office deals with the Pre-notifications of various products on a daily basis as well as working closely with the various BCPs to ensure shipments are validated and released at the earliest possible opportunity to avoid any delays to the end user.
Please contact ukbrexit@stedergroup.com if you have any requirements for moving goods from EU-GB or GB-EU. Our team can detail the required process and give advice on the relevant documentation.
